Nursing Foundation department mainly focusing on first year (I B.Sc(N) students to achieve and attain knowledge, skill and attitude in Basics of Nursing Procedure.
In Nursing Foundation department we have skilful staff and well equipped lab. Students can utilize the lab. All the basic required procedures were taught and demonstrated to the students and students were redemonstrate the procedures.
OSCE (observed) structured clinical examination) method were used to evaluate the students for various procedures. Students must do the demonstration and should answer for viva and after that they are allowed to complete the Log book.
In the clinicals students must perform the various procedures to the patient and clinical supervisor are there to evaluate them.
Demonstration hours were well utilized by the students. Students participate in various programs like Blood donor day, Hand Washing day, etc. and thereby enriched their knowledge.
Health educations were given to the patient by individual students and also students were involved in service programmes in the hospital premises.
Students were evaluated by the clinical supervisors every day and evaluation given by every week. Anecdotal records were written for every students.
Students got their clinical postings according to their requirements. C.S.I. Mission Hospital Neyyoor is a 350 bedded multi-speciality hospital was the area for clinical postings.
Assignments, periodical exam, model exam were conducted for each students and based on weightage their internal marks were given for clinical and theory.
